Code Snippet
In WordPress, there is an admin bar at the top of the site backend and frontend when logged in. This toolbar holds information and shortcuts to useful backend tasks. An admin may have a full bar of options, while a subscriber may only see one or two things, usually including their account and the WordPress logo.
You may want to hide this from the general user just to give them a cleaner experience, especially on the frontend.
PHP
Place the following code anywhere in your child theme’s functions.php document.
// hide admin bar for anyone not an admin
function remove_admin_bar() {
if (!current_user_can('administrator') && !is_admin()) {
show_admin_bar(false);
}
}
add_action('after_setup_theme', 'remove_admin_bar');
Note
All modifications to a theme or plugin should be made by creating a child theme and placing the changes there. Changes made to the parent theme will be overwritten the next time it updates.

We’d like to acknowledge that we learned a great deal of our coding from W3Schools and TutorialsPoint, borrowing heavily from their teaching process and excellent code examples. We highly recommend both sites to deepen your experience, and further your coding journey. We’re just hitting the basics here at 1SMARTchicken.
