The SQL Server STR() function returns a number as a string.

SELECT STR(99.085);

Output

99

Syntax

STR(number, length, decimals)

Parameters

ParameterDescription
numberThe number to convert to a string (required)
lengthThe length of the returning string (default is 10)
decimalsThe number of decimals to display in the returning string (default is 0)

SQL Notes:

  • Any work being done to modify the structure of a database or delete tables or the the database itself should only be done after making a recent backup
