Quick Reference
The MySQL SUM() function calculates the sum of a set of values.
The following uses the quantity column in the Order_Details table to add up the number of orders.
SELECT SUM(quantity) AS 'Total Items Ordered' FROM Order_Details;
Output
Total Items Ordered
236
