Quick Reference

The MySQL REPLACE() function replaces all case-sensitive occurrences of a substring within a string, with a new substring.

SELECT REPLACE('SQL Tutorial', 'SQL', 'PHP');

Output

REPLACE('SQL Tutorial', 'SQL', 'PHP')
PHP Tutorial

Syntax

REPLACE(string, from_string, new_string)

Parameters

SQL Notes:

  • Any work being done to modify the structure of a database or delete tables or the the database itself should only be done after making a recent backup
