The MySQL IFNULL() function returns a specified value if the expression is NULL.
SELECT IFNULL(NULL, 'chicken');
Output
IFNULL(NULL, 'chicken')

IFNULL(expression, alt_value)
Parameters

expression | The expression to test whether is NULL (required) |
alt_value | The value to return if expression is NULL (required) |
