Quick Reference
The MySQL CONCAT() function adds two or more expressions together.
The following combines the three strings “Johnny”, “‘the weasel’”, and “Shay”.
SELECT CONCAT('Johnny', "'the weasel'", 'Shay') AS 'Concatenated String';
Output
Concatenated String
Johnny 'the weasel' Shay
Syntax
CONCAT(expression1, expression2, expression3, ...)
Parameters
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
expression1, expression2, expression3, etc. | The expressions to add together; if any of the expressions is a NULL value, it returns NULL (required) |

- Any work being done to modify the structure of a database or delete tables or the the database itself should only be done after making a recent backup
