Quick Reference
The INSERT INTO SELECT keywords copies data from one table and inserts it into another table.
The following copies information from the Suppliers table into the Customers table. Columns that do not contain data in the Suppliers table, will contain NULL in the Customers table.
INSERT INTO Customers (last_name, first_name, city, country)
SELECT supplier_name, city, country FROM Suppliers;SQL Notes:
- Any work being done to modify the structure of a database or delete tables or the the database itself should only be done after making a recent backup
