Quick Reference
The PHP tempnam() function creates a temporary file with a unique name in the specified directory.

Note
If the specified directory does not exist, tempnam() may generate a file in the system’s temporary directory.
Output
C:\testing\temp1.tmp
Syntax
tempnam(dir, prefix)
Parameters
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
dir | Specifies the directory of where to create the temp file (required) |
prefix | Specifies the start of the filename (required) |
PHP Notes:
- When using PHP, single or double quotation marks are acceptable and work identically to one another; choose whichever you prefer, and stay consistent
- Arrays count starting from zero NOT one; so item 1 is position [0], item 2 is position [1], and item 3 is position [2] … and so on
