Quick Reference

The PHP ftp_get_option() function returns runtime options of the current FTP connection.

<?php
// connect and login to FTP server
$ftp_server = 'ftp.example.com';

$ftp_conn = ftp_connect($ftp_server) or die('Could not connect to ' . $ftp_server);
$login = ftp_login($ftp_conn, $ftp_username, $ftp_userpass);

// return the runtime options
echo ftp_get_option($ftp_conn,FTP_TIMEOUT_SEC);

// close connection
ftp_close($ftp_conn);
?>

Output

// returns the timeout used for network operations

PHP Notes:

  • When using PHP, single or double quotation marks are acceptable and work identically to one another; choose whichever you prefer, and stay consistent
  • Arrays count starting from zero NOT one; so item 1 is position [0], item 2 is position [1], and item 3 is position [2] … and so on
