The padding property sets the padding for an element, and is a shorthand property for:

Value | Description |
---|---|
length | Specifies the padding in px, pt, cm, etc. (default value is 0) |
% | Specifies the padding in percent of the width of the parent element |
initial | Sets this property to its default value |
inherit | Inherits this property from its parent element |

The HTML element can also be styled using JavaScript and the element’s id.
