The max-width property defines the maximum width of an element. It can be smaller in width, but not larger than the specified size value.

none | No maximum width (default) |
length | Defines the maximum width in px, cm, etc. |
% | Defines the maximum width in percent of the containing element |

Using JavaScript
The HTML element can also be styled using JavaScript and the element’s id.
